NSG- Keri's Artificial Disc Replacement Testimonial
Keri could barely move her arm due to severe degeneration of the spine, today she has full range of motion and is back in full force as a mom and personal trainer! -
NSG- Fusion is Not The Answer
If you're experiencing back or neck pain after failed conservative treatment, there's no doubt spinal fusion surgery is a popular option among neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons. But is it the best solution? In this video, we explore the potential benefits and drawbacks of this surgery, and recommend other options if it's not right for you.
It is our belief that people are at times receiving spinal fusions when it is not necessary. Thats right, people are being overfused! Why risk mobility and adjacent level disease when it is not necessary?
(Disclaimer: we perform spinal fusion procedures when totally necessary and in some instances, it can very well be the only option).
Wether it be a herniated disk causing radiculopathy, myleopathy, or horrible neck pain, or back pain. Patients should be focused on
If you'd like an expert opinion from top neurosurgeons Jared Ament and Amir Vokshoor and on what the best option would be for you, call our offices to make an appointment and we would be happy to provide you with a proper consultation to evaluate your spine health needs.

NSG- The Truth About Artificial Disc Clinical Trials
Cervical Artificial Disc Replacement is a potential treatment option for those who suffer from chronic neck pain. This procedure replaces a diseased natural disc with a compatible artificial disc implant to help restore motion, function, and stability to the spine. Some artificial disc replacement technologies are available via clinical trials. What is a cervical artificial disc clinical trial?
A clinical trial for cervical artificial disc is an organized investigational phase where data collection and outcomes are tracked in order to determine wether the device is up to standards in order to be approved by the FDA. These discs are often implanted by the thousands in Europe and in many instances have shown positive results before touching the US. When beginning these trials, only a select few surgeons are chosen for the clinical trial surgeries to take place.
Some of these artificial discs offer some clinical benefits to particular patients. The kinematics of each artificial disc is different, and some of our patient's kinematics may match with one disc but not necessarily another. This is why we aim to match the right artificial disc to the right anatomical characteristics of a patients anatomy and love that clinical trials allow us to tap into another option when it could be clinically beneficial.

Los Angeles nurse back to work less than 1-week after 2-level Artificial Disc Replacement Surgery
Motion preservation over fusion! A local RN is back to work less than 1-week post-op from her 2-level artificial disc replacement (ADR). A pinnacle of our practice is to avoid fusion whenever possible, unless absolutely necessary, and preserve motion with ADR surgery.
